Christmas letter - 2008

Christmas 2008

Dear,

Once again……Merry Christmas!!  It is impossible for us to be together often, so I have to let you know that I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH, and Christmas time is the time to do that.  I hope you are well and happy, and anticipating this great and special day.

Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  He represents and taught all the wondrous things we enjoy at this special time of year: peace, joy, happiness, service, gift giving, and goodwill.  As the song says, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Nevertheless to truly have Christmas we must go in search of Christmas.  I pray we all (our family) will rightly remember the “WHY” of Christmas - - the birth of our Savior who is the reason for all the good things we enjoy on a daily basis.  And, then, let us perform the “how” of Christmas so as to make Christmas live all year long!  I am including an article pertaining to this idea which touched my heart, and which I hope you will also enjoy and perhaps learn from.

Remember, it is giving, not getting, that brings to full bloom the Christmas spirit which makes us so keenly excited at this season.  It is in doing for others we receive joy and happiness in our own lives. I KNOW this is true, and I KNOW that the Messenger of all good loves you and me and is concerned for our best good.  Let us strive not to be like the inn-keeper on that blessed night.  Let us always make room for Him, for He lives and I testify of that!

May peace, happiness, contentment, and lots of fun, of course, be yours this Christmas.  I LOVE YOU!

Love,

Great Grandma Bateman
