Christmas Day December
25, 2003
Dear,
The
holiday season is upon us—that time of year for special family get-togethers
and gift-giving. I want you to know how very dear you are to me and how much
Grandpa and I have enjoyed that delightful tradition of giving presents to you
and others we love, and how much it has meant to have you visit and open those
gifts with us.
Know,
too, how much Grandpa and I love you. We wish you a very merry Christmas and a
fantastic year coming up. I send my deepest affection this Christmastime. My
gift this year can’t be bought with money—my personal testimony of the divinity
of Jesus Christ. In addition, you are the recipient of a very proud family
heritage, the legacy of the blessings of the latter-day Gospel, and strong
family character and ties. I want you to have a remembrance of this home, and
to know that as long I live, it is open to you and filled with love for you.
You
are
life’s greatest gift to Grandpa and me. Even if you don’t remember me by the
time you reach adulthood, I want you to know and be able to rely on the fact
that we knew each other well. I held you as an infant, I watched you play with
toys on my family room floor, I fed you at our table, and I celebrated you.
I
hope you will always recall those important family traditions in which Grandpa
and I played
a
part. As you contemplate them, may you rejoice in remembering , have hope in
the
present,
and build faith for the future. Remember always who you are, a member of a
great
family.
Most importantly, know how very much we love you.
MERRY
CHRISTMAS!
Grandma
Bateman
